We are seeking a skilled Learning and Capability Specialist who will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering the professional development landscape for Kmart Group. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating professional development offerings for our stores and national office teams. This role will be instrumental in building our organization's capability, enhancing the performance of our store management teams, and delivering high-quality learning solutions that support our store leaders. This role will primarily be based in Mulgrave, with some travel to Williams Landing as needed.

What you’ll be doing

As a Learning and Capability Specialist working for Kmart and Target you will:

  • Manage the national training calendar, including vendor coordination and LMS program setup for both Kmart and Target national offices and stores.
  • Partner with the learning design team and subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure training content aligns with learning objectives and best practices.
  • Provide hands-on support in facilitating training sessions when necessary, serving as a resource for both trainers and participants.
  • Establish communication channels with People and Capability Managers and Store Operations to ensure the training calendar supports brand requirements while minimizing disruptions to daily operations.
  • Continuously monitor and assess session utilization, collecting feedback from participants to evaluate training effectiveness.
  • Conduct an annual review of the national training calendar, proposing new offerings based on changing business requirements and industry trends.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and follow up to ensure all training sessions are properly recorded within the LMS.

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

  • The ability to facilitate programs and present confidently to various audiences.
  • A proven track record of excelling in high-activity environments with competing priorities and time pressure.
  • Experience in providing administrative and learning services across a large, complex organization, spanning multiple sites and divisions.
  • A solid understanding of adult learning principles and leadership development principles.
  • Great communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is preferable.
  • Experience in animation, graphic design, or multimedia is highly regarded.
