Kmart and Target are modernising and optimising our end-to-end supply chain to enhance efficiency, reduce cost, increase safety, and improve customer and team member satisfaction.

We are creating the next generation of our supply chain, and to achieve this, we will be advancing our technology and our supply chain operations. There will be a focus across our warehouse management, transport/logistics, inventory optimisation, and demand and forecasting systems.

To help us enable the success of our next generation supply chain program, we are looking for a Head of Next Gen Customer Fulfilment Centre (CFC) for Kmart and Target that has strong experience designing and building large scale fulfilment solutions.

Join our team as the Head of Next Generation Customer Fulfilment Centre – Kmart and Target and lead the charge toward our Next Gen vision, focusing on cost efficiency and risk mitigation. This pivotal role involves developing a comprehensive roadmap, including extensive testing in existing sites to refine our approach, especially regarding inventory allocation.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive innovation and shape the future of our operations, working with a dynamic team dedicated to delivering exceptional results.

What you’ll be doing

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to craft a compelling business case for the Next Gen CFC in preparation for Wesfarmers approval.

  • Develop input assumptions for CFCs, such as order profiles, growth scenarios, and service levels to enhance the online customer experience as part of the online network plan.

  • Define the optimal level and type of automation to align with the order profile of Kmart and Target, particularly for upcoming CFCs in locations like New Zealand and Next Gen sites.

  • Identify and specify the necessary changes to the current operating model, enabling a seamless transition to the Net Gen CFC implementation program.

To be successful in this team you will have:

  • A deep and comprehensive understanding of end-to-end e-commerce fulfillment operations.

  • Proven experience in crafting persuasive business cases for substantial investments, reflecting your ability to think strategically and drive financial outcomes.

  • Track record of operating within a fulfillment network with a strong commitment to efficiency and a demonstrated ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Proficiency in domestic transport, e-commerce specifications, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and successful implementation of transport tenders.

  • An exceptional ability to convey a compelling vision through storytelling, inspiring teams and stakeholders with your forward-thinking ideas.

  • Outstanding communication skills that enable you to deliver clear and impactful messages, facilitating effective collaboration and decision-making.

  • Proven track record in driving continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing operational efficiency and excellence.

  • Proven experience as a people leader, with a track record of building and leading both direct and indirect reporting line teams during periods of significant change. The ability to foster innovation, set high standards, and create value autonomously while upholding organisational culture and values.
