Job Description

Grow your career with a global retailer as a Commercial Analyst within our Buying team at ALDI Australia, based in Minchinbury. This is a 12-month fixed-term opportunity.

In this pivotal role, you will join a team that is at the heart of what makes ALDI unique: our products. As part of the Buying team, you will be involved in the journey of our products, from conception to our store shelves.

What does the role look like? 

• Create and maintain tools and reports to effectively analyse large data sets across multiple sources and provide key stakeholders with relevant business insights in a timely manner
• Identify performance improvement opportunities and leverage off data-driven insights and recommendations to enable the National Buying department to optimise ranging and category management processes
• Build and maintain positive relationships with cross-functional teams to develop and analyse data needs
• Providing any other support as required by the Executive Manager to support the broader Buying Department

Qualifications

What do we need from you?

• Logical thinking and analytical mindset to break complex problems into manageable steps and evaluate possible solutions
• In-depth experience and strong competency in SQL
• Python or equivalent programming language experience highly desirable
• Demonstrated commercial experience and knowledge in data visualisation tools (such as Tableau or equivalent)
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical ideas into easy-to-understand concepts for relevant business stakeholders to take necessary steps
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
• FMCG/Retail industry experience in either commercial or category team highly desirable
• Tertiary qualification in relevant field
