We are looking for an experienced Senior HR Advisor that is switched on and ready to tackle all HR matters efficiently. You need to be someone who not only enjoys the fast pace of the mining industry but also always be up for a challenge. You need to be pro-active, forward thinking and very well versed with all legal aspects of employment.

 

Roster: Monday to Friday (38hrs per week)

Term: Full-time 

Location: Belmont WA

 

Position Summary:

Reporting to the HR Superintendent, you will provide HR advice and monitor management of all HR functions including but not limited to, Worker's Compensation, return to work and EAP programs, Employee Relations, Training & Development, Compensation & Benefits Administration, Grievance handling, Disciplinary Action, Separation management, Dispute resolutions.

 

Core Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Liaising between Head Office and site management on all employee matters
  • Continuously seek ways to improve existing HR & ER practices and procedures in consultation with team members
  • Consistently demonstrate HR & ER leadership within and on behalf of Karridale Group
  • Managing dispute resolution, counselling and mentoring as required
  • Managing the grievance process
  • Advising employees on their workplace rights
  • EBA Bargaining and interpreting the agreement for management and employees
  • Preparing the management team for legal cases
  • Deal with Fair Work Commission in Employee Relations matters - employee disputes, unfair dismissal cases, general protection claims etc.
  • Attend mediations, conciliation meetings and arbitration meetings with FWC
  • In conjunction with the line managers effective case management of people related issues such as terminations, disciplinary actions, warning letters
  • Coordinating promotions, salary increases and reclassifications
  • Draft and develop position descriptions and provide advice on position classification and reclassification processes for specified departments
  • Conducting exit interviews and managing the feedbacks received

 

Required Qualification:

  • Master’s degree in HR, Business, Industrial Relations or equivalent discipline related to the duties of the position
  • Current National Police Clearance

 

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks efficiently.
  • Strong ability in building and maintaining effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of and complete commitment to confidentiality.
  • Advanced computer software skills, including Word, Excel and other database applications.
  • Be available for site visits as required (3 sites currently with a long-term view of expanding)

 

Required Experience:

  • Over 5 years’ experience in a similar role preferably in mining or construction industry.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of Fair Work Act
  • Strong ability to influence and encourage personnel.
  • Excellent negotiating skills and ability to engage with key stakeholders.  
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Good interpersonal skills to deal with client, management, team members and site personnel.
