Forest Ranger in Charge

What you will do (key responsibilities/duties)

As our Forest Ranger in Charge, you will develop and lead the sales programs for timber and other forest products in Queensland.

The Queensland Government is committed to the effective and responsible management and use of the state's native forest resources, your efforts will be integral in helping the government to manage the sustainability of forestry resources.

You will know you're achieving success in the role when you:

  • are dedicated to sustainable native forest management
  • can lead a team and manage your own work priorities, ensuring assigned tasks are undertaken promptly and meet the project deliverables
  • are actively contributing as a member of a high-performing team.

What you will bring (qualifications, registrations, experience)

There are some qualifications that we see as essential/desirable. You must possess a:

  • valid Australian ‘c' class drivers' licence
  • proficiency or the ability to quickly acquire proficiency in spatial mapping programs.

This role requires the regular traveling and working away from headquarters (including bush camping in some regions) and operation of a 4WD. Relevant transferable field experience is highly regarded.

If you do not have field experience, you will bring a good attitude and willingness to learn these aspects of the role.

You will have a keen eye for detail, great time management and effective problem[1]skilling skills. More than anything, you will have a positive attitude and make a great contribution to our close-knit and connected team.
