About the Business

With a history of over 160 years in the Australian and New Zealand sugar industries, Wilmar Sugar Australia operations span the value chain from sugar cane growing, sugar manufacturing, refining, exporting, and marketing, to the production of renewable electricity, ethanol and sustainable agricultural products.

To be more specific, Wilmar manufactures over half of Australia's raw sugar, and each year exports enough electricity to power more than 68,000 Australian homes for 12 months. As well as supplying ethanol (ethyl alcohol) to the growing fuel market in Australia, Wilmar also supplies a significant market share to various industries including the pharmaceutical, printing, cleaning, winery, aerosol, animal health and food and beverage industries.

About the Role

We are currently seeking applications for multiple Trade positions located at Proserpine Mill near the gorgeous township of Airlie Beach. These are permanent positions in our sugar processing factory, some of which require shift work during the crushing season on a rotating roster and day work during the maintenance period.

It is essential that the person we are seeking has the relevant competencies, experience and qualifications -Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication; Mechanical; Diesel Fitter.

Our ideal candidates will have a proven high standard of performance, self-motivation, attendance, and punctuality; in return, you'll work with a great team fabricating equipment which we install in-house at our mills, such as pans & evaporators, as well as the Locomotives we use to transport sugar cane.

Specifically seeking trades:

• Fabrication / Boilermakers
• Fitter & Turner
• Diesel Fitter

The opportunity

While the following maybe be requirements in this role and we are prepared to provide training to people who possess the right aptitude:

• Forklift
• Dogger
• Basic Riggers
• Elevated Work Platform

You will need to possess excellent communicate skills to provide regular/accurate feedback on work status.
