About the Department:
Infant Child & Youth Mental Health Service (ICYMHS) is a service with multiple teams servicing the north-eastern catchment of Melbourne Metropolitan (local government areas of Banyule, Nillumbik, Darebin, Whittlesea, Yarra and Boroondara). Young people eligible for the service are 0 to 25 years with a current shift towards Royal Commission recommendations.
CONSULTANT PSYCHIATRIST – ICYMHS
ADOLESCENT INPATIENT PSYCHIATRY UNIT/YOUTH BRIEF INTERVENTION SERVICE
Adolescent Unit: The Marian Drummond Adolescent Unit (Inpatient Service for teenagers 13-17 years) is an 11-bed unit, which provides assessment and treatment to teenagers who require more intensive treatment than can be offered in an outpatient setting. The unit has a small High Dependency area and a seclusion room. The unit accepts has a catchment area covering the six LGA serviced by Austin ICYMHS and rural areas serviced by Bendigo ICYMHS and Mildura CAMHS.
Youth Brief Intervention Service: The Youth Brief Intervention Service (YBIS) provides brief family and system focused support for youth (12 - 25 yo) including primary and secondary consultation, family and system focused therapeutic work. This is in conjunction with other community agencies such as headspace, Youth Support & Advocacy Service (YSAS), Child Protection or Youth Justice in the Banyule, Boroondara, Yarra, Darebin, Nillumbik or Whittlesea areas.

As the Consultant Psychiatrist, Adolescent Inpatient Psychiatry Unit/Youth Brief Intervention Service you will be required to provide comprehensive and high-quality evidence based psychiatric services to young consumers and their families or support networks in the Inpatient and Youth Brief Intervention Service Teams.
