The Role

As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing a consistent, high-quality food product while ensuring courteous, professional, efficient and flexible service is maintained at all times. Reporting to the Culinary Director, your key roles and responsibilities will include but will not be limited to;

• Prepares ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping and storing food
• Organises the assigned work area and prepares mise en place for efficient service
• Checks supplies and prep lists and ensures all items are prepped in a timely manner
• Ensures all products are stored properly in the correct location at the appropriate levels at all times
• Ensures the highest of quality standard ensuring guest satisfaction
• Maintains a hygienic, safe and secure environment for all customers and team members
• Follows workplace compliance at all times as noted in local legislation 

About You

To excel in the role, you should have;

• Knowledge and experience in a variety of cooking methods
• Minimum 1 years' experience as a Cook in a restaurant of high standards and reputation, in a hotel environment is advantageous 
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work in an evolving environment
• Excellent knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety, food hygiene and efficient kitchen processes
• Available to work on a rotating schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays
