Lead Estimator

About the role:

This position will lead and manage the preparation and compilation of cost estimates on various phases of the future projects at HanRoy. It will develop project budgets and value engineering opportunities to ensure fruitful outcomes for the business.

Key Duties:

  • Prepare all the reference baseline documents in accordance with project control guidelines and ensure that the project's estimating requirements are properly and clearly communicated.
  • Lead a team of estimators / quantity surveyors to develop estimation setup in accordance with project control guidelines.
  • Develop an accurate estimation to support prefeasibility and feasibility stage to build project budgets.
  • Lead the preparation of first principal and cost estimates, ensuring the production of well scoped and priced tenders.
  • Prepare detailed indirect cost allocation.
  • Liaise with construction teams to assess project conditions and required inclusions.
  • Review and analyse subcontractor quotes.
  • Create pricing schedules, complete material take-offs and prepare cost budgets in a variety of formats.
  • Expand subcontractor database.
  • Identify, evaluate and estimate value management opportunities.
  • Liaise with the delivery team to understand and capture performance metrics.
  • Conduct quality checks on tenders.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Minimum 10+ years' extensive experience as an estimator in the construction environment.
  • Iron ore construction projects experience (Mine / Rail/Port)
  • Degree qualified in Engineering, Construction management, Quantity Surveying or similar.
