About the role

This position is a full-time role in the Technical Services team based at the Moruya Administration Office. The successful candidate will prepare and review environmental documentation and obtain relevant environmental approvals to allow Council projects to proceed.

Your main duties will include:

  • Undertake assessments such as Review of Environmental Factors for Council infrastructure projects and gain necessary approvals for projects to proceed.
  • Review and assist in the preparation of internal environmental management documents and also provide independent advice on the environmental and social impacts of projects.
  • Negotiate with State Government agencies to achieve successful outcomes for Council.
  • Develop and manage contracts with environmental consultants.
  • Review planning assessment and environmental documentation.
  • Undertake and coordinate special projects as required by the Design Coordinator.

Salary Information

Total remuneration for the role is in the range $93,609.35 to $102,945.97 gross per annum consisting of:

  • $84,332.75 to $92,744.12 base salary
  • $9,276.60 to $10,201.85 superannuation (at 11%)

About you

To be successful in this role, you will be passionate about environmental engineering and hold the relevant qualifications in an environmental or engineering field. You will be a great communicator and have an understanding of the Local Government Act 1993. Your report writing skills will set you apart from the rest and having knowledge of relevant Australian Environmental Legislation will set you up for success in the position.   • High level interpersonal/oral and written communication skills.
  • High level negotiation skills.
  • High level of analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in the preparation of Review of Environmental Factors for Civil Construction projects.
