The Aboriginal Medical Service Redfern (AMS) was established in 1971 and was the first Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (ACCHO) in Australia. We are a multi-disciplinary health care facility with Medical, Chronic Care, Drug & Alcohol, Mental Health, Dental and Public Health units. We work together to provide a high level of patient care whilst servicing our local community needs.

We are seeking a Health Promotion and Community Relations Officer with experience in, and demonstrated knowledge of, Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations to work collaboratively to develop the communications function and design, and co-ordinate health promotion activities that engage the Community.
What you will do:
- Deliver services in line with the units annual work plan.
- Proactively manage numerous programs and partnerships.
- Engage with clients, Community and service providers to enhance service delivery.
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and apply professional and ethical boundaries when dealing with complex situations.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and curate engaging content, which promotes AMS activities.
- Deliver safe and effective education presentations and workshops for both internal and external individuals and/or groups.
- Maintain a unified ‘brand voice’ of AMS Redfern across different media & communication channels to enhance Public Relations and our identity.
- Collect data and report on all activities.
Ideally the right candidate will possess the following:
- Qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or significant relevant experience in a health promotion or communications position.
- Well-developed analytical٫ interpersonal and project management skills.
- Advanced computer skills including the ability to learn new systems and processes.
- Strong communication, copywriting and editing skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team to deliver projects.
- Well-developed time management and organisational skills.
This Permanent Fulltime position (37.5 hours per week) includes employee benefits such as salary packaging and ongoing education opportunities.
