Manager IT Project Team - Portfolio Operations

A great opportunity for a highly motivated leader to manage the Project Management Office within our Business Innovation Directorate.

As Manager Portfolio Operations, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for contributing to building the department into a high-performance, innovative organisation by providing strategic advice around ICT project and program portfolio management.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the General Manager Business Engagement to manage Branch activities/projects, including its physical, human and financial resources to ensure the achievement of outcomes identified in the Organisational and Branch Operational Plan.
  • Participating in operational and project planning to implement Branch objectives.
  • Leading the development and implementation of robust project planning and governance processes, including project reviews.
  • Contributing to process and service improvements, efficiencies and integration within the Branch.
  • Identify improvement initiatives that contribute toward the efficiency and effectiveness of the Branch.

Essential requirements for this role are:

  • Demonstrated high level of knowledge and experience in leading a Project Management Office.
  • High level written communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience communicating effectively with team members and customers at all levels.
  • Demonstrated high level of knowledge and experience in assessing appropriate sourcing strategies for IT projects and services.
  • A high level of analytical and problem solving skills, with demonstrated experience identifying issues, risks and remedies.
  • Possession of an appropriate Project Management qualification (such as MSP, PRINCE2 or PMP, RegPM).
