The NSW Ministry of Health is a Department established under the Government Sector Employment Act 2013, section 22 and Schedule one, to support relevant ministers to perform their executive and statutory functions. The Workforce Planning and Talent Development Branch (WPTD) is a part of the People, Culture and Governance Division, and is responsible for planning, developing, facilitating and evaluating workforce, culture and talent strategies across the NSW health system, to improve health outcomes for the people of NSW. In collaboration with national and state agencies and other stakeholders, WPTD aims to establish a clear picture of the health workforce now and into the future to improve workforce supply and distribution.

What you'll be doing 
The Principal Analyst - Workforce Intelligence will provide operational and technical leadership of an integrated workforce information system for the NSW Health. Including relevant system architecture, data modelling, reporting and analytics.

Selection Criteria 

  1. Extensive experience and a record of achievement in workforce informatics and reporting in a large diverse service industry organisation, and relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent (e.g. IT, HR, Economics or Engineering). This includes expert knowledge and demonstrated achievement in managing, manipulating and interrogating large datasets, data analysis, designing reports and extracting actionable insights.
  2. Superior understanding of Large-Scale Enterprise Human Resource Management systems and demonstrated advanced knowledge of Business Intelligence tools (Qlik, PowerBI) to support workforce informatics, including advanced proficiency using scripting languages such as Python, R, DAX, SQL.
  3. Strong analytical skills including the ability to analyze and interpret complex information from numerous sources, prepare and present insightful analysis and reports, deal with challenges creatively and achieve business focused solutions.
  4. Proven achievement in the development and successful implementation of strategic initiatives, including the capability to plan, manage change, strategically improve performance and manage multiple projects.

COVID-19 Vaccination Compliancy 
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine (except for the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine which is approved by the TGA as a single dose primary course). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
