The School

Pembroke School is a co-educational, non-denominational, day and boarding school from Early Learning to Year 12. The role

Pembroke is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to undertake the fixed term, full time role (Dec 2023 – Apr 2025) of ICT Solutions Architect. The successful candidate will be an integral member of the school’s Information Services team. They will have an exceptional service orientation, a solutions-focussed attitude and a keen interest in cloud based ICT services/solutions with a focus on the Microsoft ecosystem. 

The ICT Solutions Architect will be responsible for analysing existing ICT systems and processes, developing a roadmap to modernisation utilising cloud native (SaaS/PaaS) or hybrid technologies and ultimately leading the implementation. In addition, they will act as a key point of contact in relation to the School Management System. Reporting to the Director of ICT, they will work in collaboration with the wider team to provide expert advice, implementation and support related to modernisation of Pembroke’s critical IT business systems and platforms.

What will the role involve?

• Acting as the point of contact for the School Management System to ensure business as usual operations are maintained
• Translating technology trends that enable a reduction in architecture and/or process complexity
• Contributing to the broader development, planning and delivery of ICT services for Pembroke School.
• Plan, design and lead the transition of existing legacy systems to cloud native SaaS, PaaS or hybrid technologies/solutions
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert in relation to cloud services, with a specific focus on modernisation via the Microsoft 365 / Azure platforms and related services

What are we looking for?

• Significant demonstrated experience with cloud-based Microsoft 365 services and associated technologies (Azure, Entra AD, Teams, Sharepoint, Exchange, Autopilot/Intune, Power Platform, Defender, Sentinel, Graph API, School Data Sync, Azure DevOps)
• Deep knowledge of traditional on-premise Microsoft technologies (AD, VMWare, Windows/SQL Server and related technologies). 
• Understanding of CICD and contemporary DevSecOps practices
• Prior exposure/experience with Synergetic would be advantageous
• Proven ability to identify architectural trade-offs and effectively communicate them to stakeholders.
• Well-developed problem-solving skills and ability to think critically and creatively
• Naturally collaborative, solutions-focused, positive and diplomatic approach
• Current or willing to obtain DHS Working with Children Check, Reporting Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect training certificate and First Aid training certificate.
