Yarra Plenty Regional Library is seeking a part-time Senior Customer Service and Events Officer with a focus on Reading, Learning, and Community to provide excellent customer service and high-quality library and information services that are responsive to the changing needs of the customers.

About the Ideal Candidate:

The ideal applicant for this role will actively support the operations of a dynamic library branch by assisting with event marketing and program delivery. They will work to engage the community with the library's collection through visual merchandising. Adaptability, flexibility, and a strong desire to contribute to a positive team culture are essential qualities we are looking for. The candidate may be required to work across various library branches to support their marketing needs.

Responsibilities:

1. Respond to various customer information and reference needs using branch collections, products, and services.

2. Provide Readers Advisory services, demonstrating a good understanding of the process and showcasing high-level reading knowledge.

3. Perform library operations to support customers in a self-serve environment, utilizing extensive knowledge of library products and services. This includes circulation and collection maintenance duties.

4. Maintain a strong customer focus by addressing customer needs, assisting with programs, collection maintenance, functions, and displays (including coordination of book groups) and participating in Public Participation services to promote library membership and usage.

5. Ensure adherence to YPRL Brand and Style Guide for branch marketing and outreach collateral.

6. Support events, including setup and delivery of events, and logistical support for larger events both in-branch and outreach. Understand YPRL's programming framework and goals.

7. Actively participate in planning and staff meetings.

8. Attend relevant forums and training to stay updated with industry trends.

9. Contribute to the role of the library as a place for reading, learning, and community.

10. Market the library services offered to the local community.

Reporting:

This position will report to the Team Leader Operations.
