SMW Group are recruiting a Senior Estimator to join our business based in Rockhampton. This role will require relocation. 

Strong communication skills and a background in providing detailed, accurate quotations and estimates for steelwork fabrication to client specification are essential.

As a driving force behind our business, you would be responsible for:
 

• Estimate and cost all resources required for heavy fabrication work and projects, including preparing and submitting quotations to customers
• Pre-plan and source materials and services as per job scope requirements
• Liaise with suppliers in relation to determining price of material and services for tender purposes
• Liaise with Production team, plan and project manage to fruition
• Prepare and coordinate workshop schedules and monitor same to ensure critical dates and milestones are met
• Prepare and enhance quality control documentation
• Report progress at review meetings
• Contribute to improvements in safety, job efficiency and quality
• Pricing of variations and comparing original scopes to actual scope on strip down of repair items and identifying differences in pricing
• Genuine timely interaction with customers and suppliers

  
Essential Key Attributes and Skills 
 

• Relevant Trade Qualifications in fabrication preferred but not essential
• Relevant Australian experience
• Post trade qualifications well regarded
• Competency in reading/interpreting designs and drawings
• Computer literacy
• Experience in Estimating and Project management
• Be a highly motivated and self-driven starter
• High work ethic
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Capable of working unsupervised
• Machining estimating experience highly advantageous
• Background working in the mobile maintenance industry preferably medium to heavy equipment as well as construction
• Working knowledge of applicable Australian Standards and specifications
• Familiar with the use of OEM based resources
• Excellent communication skills
• Computer proficiency, particularly in the Microsoft Office suite
• Full Driver's License
• You will be able to communicate in a professional, error-free manner as you will play a part in preparing tenders and quotes for our customers, meeting tight deadlines.
• You will be a relationship-builder, able to make contacts with key customers and suppliers.
