Caloundra Christian College is a Pre-Kindy to Year 12 independent Christian school on the Sunshine Coast. THE ROLE :

CalCC invites applications from professional teachers and leaders who are passionate about helping young people learn, and can provide engaging programs for students in Design and Technology.

The Head of Technologies facilitates the development of modern, innovative and challenging curriculum, assessment and pedagogy opportunities in order to foster a learning culture that engages with design and technologies with creativity, purpose and rigor. The HoT models strong pedagogical practices and influences others to do the same. They champion the Design and Technologies areas of learning and facilitate out-of-class opportunities, events and co-curricular activities that foster the engagement of students. They are an integral part of the College’s Teach and Learn Team, and support the Executive in meeting the strategic plans relating to Technology.

The Head of Design and Technology role is suited to an experienced Technology teacher or current leader and could be combined with the current advertised ICT position.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• lead others with a servant heart seeking to model professional learning, quality teaching practices and a willingness to learn.
• facilitate purposeful and engaging curriculum and assessment
• facilitate and foster student engagement and achievement
• actively contribute to policy and strategic development,
• build and maintain productive, positive and professional relationships
• manage resources appropriately
• excellent interpersonal communication skills
• a passion for learning and teaching

All applicants must hold a current Queensland Teacher Registration, be eligible to work in Australia, and a practising Christian who are active in their own church and whole-heartedly subscribe to the Statement of Faith found on our website.
