Build the human capabilities of the Council, fostering a high performing culture, and continuously improving people and organisational development functions. Provide strong, decisive leadership, guidance and support to the Human Resources Directorate. Provide high level support and advice to the Chief Executive Officer, all people leaders, and as a member of the Executive Leadership Team.
Employment Status: Executive Contract - Full Time, Limited Tenure (Up to 5 Years)
ABOUT YOUThe successful candidate will have:
| Essential Knowledge, skills and abilities |Successful experience in providing strong, decisive leadership and management of one or more of the following:
Skilled in developing a department and contributing to the Directorate and Council’s strategic management, including strategic and operational planning, performance frameworks, and the development of appropriate policies and systems.
Demonstrated involvement in implementing successful change and continuous improvement processes within a significant service delivery area pursuing innovation and excellence in service delivery.
Experience in engaging the community and stakeholders to ensure future direction and needs are clearly defined and met by providing excellence in customer service.
Demonstrated experience providing effective people management and leadership skills with a commitment to high standards of performance, building workforce capability, a strong positive work environment, and a workforce culture consistent with Council’s vision, mission, and strategy.
Competent in the effective management of human, financial, physical, and other resources to achieve Council’s business objectives.
Proficient in representing and promoting a critical service delivery function within the community, business sector, other local authorities, government agencies and broader environment, and building and maintaining positive working relationships.
Capacity to plan, execute and complete programmes and projects relating to areas of accountability, within set timeframes.
Ability to prepare and manage the People and Performance Unit budget including delivering advice to the Chief executive Officer on progress against budgetary expenditure in areas of financial responsibility.
Practiced in keeping records in accordance with legislation, information standards, and other relevant guidelines and procedures, and ensuring records are captured in the authorised recordkeeping system.
