About us
The South Eastern Water Conservation and Drainage Board ( the Board ) has a key goal of managing the South East (SE) Drainage Network and infrastructure to retain water and manage flows to benefit primary production, connected water systems and wetlands. This requires water regimes to be sustainably managed across both the upper and lower south east through optimal management, operations and maintenance of drains, channels and flood ways.
The Opportunity
A rare and exciting opportunity to join a revitalised team in the South East region of South Australia to manage the SE drainage network.
The Environmental Manager will provide leadership and scientific expertise to manage and regulate water in the drainage network. With expertise in environmental water, vegetation and wetland management you will determine and implement the operating regimes of drainage infrastructure and report on the environmental and hydrological monitoring objectives of the Board. About You
You will bring your extensive experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of ecological, hydrological or natural resource management plans and programs.
Your program management skills and experience combined with your contemporary expertise in wetland, environmental water requirements and vegetation management will be vital to succeeding in this role.
It is essential that you hold a degree in ecology, natural resource management or environmental science, and a post-graduate qualification in Hydrology will be highly regarded.
You will appreciate the nuances of working in a regional environment, be a team player and have the ability to work across teams to achieve the desired outcomes.

Role is based in Millicent however consideration may be given to other locations within the region.
