The Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics (DIPL) aims to drive the sustainable, economic and social advancement of the Northern Territory (NT) through land use and transport planning, infrastructure investment and effective logistics supply chains.

As a Town Planner your primary objective is to provide professional advice and information to the Department, the Minister for Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics, the NT Planning Commission, relevant Government agencies, and the public on strategic land use policies and plans. In addition, you will develop and manage land use planning projects and concepts, contribute to public education and promotion programs and liaise and facilitate consultation with stakeholders, community groups and service agencies.

To be successful, you are required to have commenced towards a degree or diploma qualification related to Land Use Planning from an Australian tertiary institution, have eligibility to full corporate membership of the Planning Institute of Australia (see https://www.planning.org.au/); and the ability to provide professional advice and information on strategic land use plans. Well-developed political and cross cultural awareness and the ability to communicate effectively with technical, professional and lay people is essential.
