Senior HSEQ Advisor

Due to recent growth, Future Engineering and Communication (FEC) are currently seeking industry experienced Senior HSEQ Advisor to join our FEC team on a full-time basis.

This role will be based out of our Head Office located in Cockburn WA and will support our National Operations with our interstate depots operating out of NSW, QLD, SA.

Future Engineering and Communication is an Australian owned market leader specialising in both the Communications and Powerline industries who complete in-house Engineering, Design, Fabrication, Construction, and management services.

 What’s Involved:

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining, and ensuring ongoing compliance with the companies certified HSEQ Management Systems
  • Reporting to Management on the performance of the HSEQ Management Systems as well as recommendations for improvement
  • Ensuring operations comply to legislation and company policies and procedures
  • Development, implementation and control of all company and project level HSEQ documentation
  • Initiating actions to prevent the occurrence of non-conformities in processes or systems
  • Conducting audits throughout all business divisions and ensure effective implementation and close-out of subsequent actions
  • Liaising with external and certification body auditors to ensure that audits are carried out as planned and in an efficient and timely manner
  • Reporting, investigating and following up all of incidents, ensuring timely close-out
  • Tracking and reporting of organisational performance against established HSEQ KPIs
  • External HSEQ performance reporting
  • Conducting risk assessments and developing SWMS for both our field and fabrication/workshop operations
  • Providing support and advice to staff and management on applicable HSEQ requirements and standards
  • Facilitating inductions and ensuring all training is up to date
  • Liaising with both internal and external stakeholders in a professional manner at all times
  • Promoting and driving a positive HSEQ culture in the workplace

What’s Required:

  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (highly desirable)
  • Internal auditor training
  • Working knowledge of the AS/NZS 45001:2018, ISO14001.2015 and ISO 9001:2015 standards
  • Experience maintaining an Integrated Management System
  • The ability to work autonomously and as part of a diverse team
  • A demonstrated ability to engage and motivate others
  • Excellent computer skills in particular with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Be agile, responsive and good under pressure with attention to detail
  • Have a strong overriding commitment to Health, Safety, Environment and Quality
  • Be able to travel to other work locations as required around Australia
  • Previous industry experience in construction and the steel manufacturing industry will be highly regarded
  • Excellent interpersonal skills when dealing with both internal and external stakeholders

 Knowledge of and previous experience working in the telecommunications and/or power industries will be highly regarded.
