About the Work Area

This role sits within the Governance and Enterprise Resourcing Directorate which is part of the Agency Budgeting and Governance business unit.

The Governance and Financial team is responsible for providing central governance advice to Treasurys stakeholders on Government Trading Enterprises (GTE) accountability and governance frameworks.

About the Role

Available for filling is one (1) permanent opportunity, and one (1) 6 months fixed term opportunity with a possibility of extension.

The Principal Advisor works under the Governance and Financial Entities Director, working closely with other Government agencies providing governance advice. Working with a dynamic team, this is an advisory role where you will be responsible for developing, coordinating and advising on strategic issues and government activities to the Treasurer under governing legislation for Government Trading Enterprises in Western Australia.

You will also prepare Ministerial advice for the Director, Assistant Director and other business units to support them in their interaction with the Ministers office on GTE performance.

This role will give you the opportunity to work both independently and be part of a fantastic team to contribute towards ensuring the team leads in meeting Treasury key goals and deliverables.

About You

We are seeking individuals with initiative, able to prioritise work effectively to progress strategic deliverables. If you are very solutions focused, with the ability to collaborate then this is the job for you!. Experienced in providing advice to stakeholders on strategic policy and reforms, and having previous government experience will be a bonus.

You will be able to undertake research and analysis to identify issues and provide solutions and be able to perform to high standards of quality, integrity and service delivery.

You can communicate effectively to provide advice on policies to your stakeholders and assist business areas to ensure best practice is being followed. Being able to build and maintain great relationships will be an asset to you being suitable for this role.
