The Company:

Van der Meer Consulting is a Structural and Civil Consulting Engineering group with offices in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle and Canberra. This rapidly expanding company is currently seeking a suitably qualified Senior Civil Engineer for our Brisbane office.

This role is also suitable for an experienced and motivated Civil Engineer looking for the next step up in their career.

Education and Experience:

The successful candidate will have the following:

• Minimum Bachelor of Engineering in Civil 
• RPEQ or actively pursuing RPEQ (with CPD) in order to obtain RPEQ status
• Minimum 5-7 years’ civil engineering experience gained within a consultancy environment preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in the design of relevant projects including (desirable): Road & Drainage Design, Bulk Earthwork Design, Stormwater & Flood Analysis, Vehicle Turning Path Design, and Project Management.

Skills and Personal Attributes:

• Sound knowledge and application of Australian Standard design codes, relevant design techniques and construction procedures and techniques.
• Be keen to learn new and innovative design techniques.
• Advanced knowledge of 12D design software
• Experience in the use of software such as Autocad, Drainage software, Music and Microsoft Office.
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to communicate and work with other engineers, architects and design managers.
• Be enthusiastic and committed to facilitating client needs.
• Be willing to mentor junior Civil Engineers.
• Must demonstrate initiative and be a team player.
