About the Role:

Van der Meer’s Façade team is growing rapidly, and we currently have an opportunity for an experienced Senior Façade Modeler/ Draftsperson to join our Sydney office. 

The successful candidate would be expected to assist the Façade Engineers in interpreting their design and communicating that information through precise and accurate plans, elevations and details. The Senior Draftsperson will be knowledgeable in all types of façade types, most glazing suppliers of systems available on local market, metal cladding, aluminium rainscreen systems, CFC façade, precast concrete façade panels and balustrades, louvres and shade systems, brick façade, curtain wall systems.  

To be successful in the role, you will ideally have:

• Qualifications in drafting or similar is essential. 
• Minimum 10 years drafting experience gained within a Tier 1 and 2 consultancy environments.
• Ability to independently construct façade drawings, elevations and details for all types of façade systems.
• Strong project management, time management and site inspection skills.
• Proficient in 2D/3D Drafting in AutoCAD, Revit & Façade Systems Designs.
• Detailing and Design experience is desired.
• Understanding of relevant Australian standards, NCC façade requirements, State and local Government policies and guidelines.
• Knowledge and application of Façade engineering codes, construction standards, specs, procedures, and construction techniques. 
• The ability to mentor junior staff and work as part of a team.
• Enthusiasm coupled with a passion for the facade industry.
• Strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate and work with engineers, designers, architects.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Proven track record of working to tight deadlines and within budget.
• Be enthusiastic and committed to facilitating client needs.
