Sustainability Consultant / Senior Sustainability Consultant

About the role

Our sustainability team work on projects in the buildings, water, transport and community development sectors. We have a strong focus on digital delivery and are developing ground-breaking and innovative digital tools to assist our clients with their sustainability journey. Due to sustained organic growth, we are looking for a pro-active and motivated Sustainability Consultant and/or Senior Sustainability Consultant to join our growing Brisbane team.

You will work closely with our local and national sustainability teams, primarily in a consulting role for a wide range of buildings projects.

While the focus of this role is in the property and buildings sector, there are opportunities to support the delivery of infrastructure sustainability as well as support broader carbon and climate change consulting work.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Experience and understanding of Australian Standards, National Construction Code etc.
  • Proficient in building simulation software such as IESVE, EnergyPlus, TAS, or similar
  • Working knowledge of industry standard rating schemes such as Green Star, NABERS, Climate Active.
  • Good communicator, and excellent teamwork skills with desire to learn.
  • Self-motivated and ability to deliver work with limited supervision.
  • Successfully manages multiple deadlines and priorities.

The following skills and experience will be favourable, however are not essential:

  • A University degree in Engineering, Environmental Management, Sustainability or related discipline.
  • Experience with simulation tools such as Rhino, Grasshopper and Ladybug tools
  • Understanding of building physics and thermal dynamics.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Understanding of climate change resilience and adaptation methodologies.
  • Knowledge of carbon mitigation policies and processes including Science Based Targets, Climate Active etc.
  • Understanding of whole of life asset strategies and design.
