As part of the mission of the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Parramatta, the Health and Safety Officer is accountable for supporting the delivery of injury management and safety processes and providing best practice advice and action.
The Opportunity
We have an exciting role available in our Health and Safety team for a Health and Safety Officer. Building a culture of safety is a key focus. This is a great role for someone who is looking to broaden their experience across all areas of health and safety. The Health & Safety Officer is accountable for:
Providing advice and support to facilitate the delivery and management of the broad range of health & safety topic areas
Responding to ad-hoc requests and working on projects
Working with stakeholders to implement risk management practices
Assisting with injury and incident triage and investigations
Developing, monitoring and reviewing health & safety processes, practices and creating resources
Partnering with internal and external stakeholders and developing relationships

The Qualifications
To be successful in this highly rewarding role you will be a passionate about supporting the health, safety and wellness of all persons in the workplace along with the following:
Proven experience in a similar role in health and safety or education
Tertiary qualifications desirable but not necessary
A natural aptitude for fostering environments of collaboration and teamwork
Skilled in quickly establishing rapport, communicating and engaging with stakeholders along with a ‘can do’ attitude to drive outcomes
