Human Resources Project Officer

We're currently searching for an innovative and proactive person to join our team as Human Resources Projects Officer. This is an exciting opportunity that will see you develop and implement internal projects across the organisation.

Position objectives

The Human Resources Project Officer will be responsible for:

  • With guidance from the Manager People facilitate the development and implementation of key internal organisational projects and legislative requirements including but not limited to:
    • Local Government Act 2020
    • Gender Equality Act 2020
    • Workforce Planning
    • Child Safe Standards
    • White Ribbon Accreditation
  • In conjunction with the Human Resources Coordinator develop and implement the Human Resources Strategy 
  • Conduct research and benchmarking to establish improvement initiatives to support enhancements and changes to organisational policies and procedures.


Qualifications and experience

Ideally the successful applicant will have the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Organisational Development or a related field with several years’ experience or less formal qualifications with extensive project management experience in a related field.
  • Demonstrated skills supporting the development, implementation and evaluation of human resource and/or organisational development projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time, prioritise and plan workload to complete work in accordance with deadlines
  • Demonstrated experience in researching, benchmarking and drafting reports on complex issues
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to interpret and convey complex information to different audiences 
  • Demonstrated ability to work in and contribute to a multidisciplinary team and to develop professional relationships with key stakeholders
  • Hold a current satisfactory Police Check or willing to obtain one prior to employment.


Salary and conditions

The position is classified within Band 7 of Council’s current Enterprise Agreement ranging from $101,930.40 to $114,058.88 per annum plus statutory superannuation.
