  • Salary Range - Base Salary $101k to $123k (dependent on experience, skills and capabilities) plus 11% Superannuation + Salary Packaging Benefit

 

We are seeking a proactive, skilled and experienced HR Business Partner to join our team at The George Institute.

The Opportunity

The HR Business Partner will use their strong business acumen, knowledge and experience to ensure the effective development and implementation of TGI’s HR plans, systems and interventions aligning with our organisational goals.

Our successful candidate will play a critical role in the strategic and operational delivery of end-to-end HR services within a designated client group(s).

This role will be responsible for allocated functions and projects using business and external data and knowledge ensuring the development of our HR plans, systems and interventions.

This is a proportionate Job Share position with an existing team member who works 3 days per week. The two roles will be required to work together and ensure effective and efficient HR services across the group.

 

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Partner with leaders to provide effective and efficient advice across the entire employee life cycle
  • Partner with groups to effectively manage the full employee life cycle including recruitment, on-boarding, performance management, health and safety, learning and employee relations
  • Foster and promote a positive and inclusive work culture in line with organisational values
  • Drive employee engagement through various initiatives and programs
  • Participate and work with the HR/ Recruitment Coordinator in recruitment processes including the coaching and providing advice in relation to best practice of selection and onboarding of employees
  • Ownership of one or more portfolios within the HR team in Australia (e.g. work health safety and wellbeing, performance, benefits, learning).
  • Work with the team to identify learning needs within Australia and lead the development and delivery of appropriate learning frameworks and tools to support the needs of the organisation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive and deliver projects and initiatives
  • Create and deliver innovative people programs, frameworks and processes with a global mindset
  • Shape and refine policies
  • Analyse and report on HR data for respective areas to drive impact on strategic objectives
  • Understand internal and external data trends respective to strategic objectives

 

Our Successful Candidate has:

  • Tertiary qualifications in HR, Commerce, Social Sciences
  • Proven experience working in a HR partnering role
  • Strong business acumen
  • Demonstrated experience in the planning and delivery of human resources activities and projects
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem solving and time management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong data and numeracy skills
  • Excellent analytical, influencing, and decision-making skills
  • Knowledge and proven application of The Fair Work Act and employment legislation
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in the face of changing organisational priorities and ambiguous environments
  • Strong team work ethic with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Willingness to be work flexibly within a global organisation

 

Desirable:

  • Experience working within the academic or research industry
  • Experience with e-learning and HR systems
  • Certificate IV in Workplace training and assessment
  • Demonstrated experience in a learning and development, developing and implementing learning program
