The role

As part of our Human Resources team, the Human Resources Business Partner assists in the ongoing development and implementation of HR initiatives that seek to improve the capability of the business and its employees.

The role will support and partner with their allocated portfolios in the effective management of the workforce, providing advice on the implementation, management, evaluation and improvement of all people related policies, processes and plans.

Further, the successful candidate will:

• Provide specialist input into business strategies and plans, linking people initiatives to business goals, including guidance and support on employee engagement and change management initiatives.
• Coordinate and manage employee relations issues to ensure a harmonious and productive workplace relations are maintained, and compliance with Australian legislative requirements.
• Educate and promote an increase in awareness by managers on the ways in which they can actively improve IR and ER in the workplace.
• Ensure the provision of timely, consistent coaching, advice and support on all aspects of HR to our people leaders. This includes performance management, recruitment, induction, employment relationship, remuneration, recognition and reward, leadership development and change management.
• Contribute to the development of initiatives and improvements to current HR practices that foster an environment and culture where people development is a priority, enabling them to be motivated and supported to be their best.
• Lead the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives, using business knowledge and intelligence to inform changes and develop solutions to ensure that all HR operational systems and processes are fit for purpose.

Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office will be considered for this role.

About you

Your skills and experience will include:

• Demonstrated experience working in a HR environment especially within a HR Business partnering role
• Tertiary qualifications in a HR or a related discipline and/or relevant professional experience in an equivalent role. (desirable)
• High-level knowledge of applicable legislation, industrial relations instruments and frameworks.
• Australian Human Resource Institute (AHRI) membership (desirable)
• Experience with HR systems such as Workday and Pay Global (desirable)
• Demonstrated ability to manage workload including the ability to prioritise work and meet established timeframes;
• Ability to operate independently, able to resolve problems that require analytic reasoning and comprise of complex information.
• Ability to influence, persuade, lead and motivate the members of the team and organization in order to achieve the various goals and objectives of the team and organization.

As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain a baseline clearance.
