About the Role – People and Culture Officer

  • Reference number 334
  • General Officer Level 4: $88,392.79 - $94,796.91 (FTE) plus superannuation
  • Parental Leave Backfill
  • Full Time, Fixed-Term until 25 July 2024

 

As the People and Culture Officer, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting, guiding, advising, and implementing human resources and work health and safety activities across Council, and within the People and Culture Department.
  • Providing advice relating to all aspects of the employee lifecycle.
  • Providing support on all aspects of the recruitment, selection, and probation processes.
  • Maintaining People and Culture systems to ensure accuracy of data.
  • Act as the Internal Claims Coordinator and Internal Return to Work Coordinator for Return to Work and Income Protection claims, where required.

 

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Relevant qualification in Human Resource Management or other relevant field (up to Certificate IV level required) or an equivalent level of expertise and experience to undertake the range of duties required.
  • Experience interpreting and applying current legislation, Awards, Enterprise Development Agreements, policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Experience in planning, coordinating, and undertaking administrative processes.
  • Experience in facilitating information sessions.
  • A cooperative and flexible approach to achieving team outcomes.
  • Personal integrity, respect, and empathy with the ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
