You will work with a team of dedicated professionals to achieve excellence in events in our multi-million dollar refurbished and brand-new building.

ABOUT THE ROLE

EVENT PLANNER

(Full Time)

This position provides seamless planning, coordination and successful delivery of world -class events at the Cairns Convention Centre. Working across an array of events, this position strives to meet and exceed client and event expectations in the most efficient and professional manner. 

 Coordinate and deliver world class events and meet client’s requirements and expectations.

  • Conduct informative site inspections and pre-event meetings.
  • Ensure client satisfaction during events through maintaining a high profile.
  • Maintenance of all event related financial and purchasing documentation is accurate and up to date.
  • Assist in the efficient management of all incoming and outgoing client freight.
  • Co-ordination of public and ticketed events.
  • Duty coverage during events where required.
  • Coordinate external suppliers and requirements alongside client needs.

You will be:

  • 3-5 year Experience in the Events Industry (Required). 
  • Passionate about the events industry.
  • Knowledgeable about event management systems, possibly Ungerboeck software.
  • An exceptional communicator.
  • Client focused, Well presented and Highly organised.
  • Knowledgeable about food and beverage and special event operations.
  • Flexible with working hours.
  • A degree in Hospitality, Tourism or Event Management (desirable).

A satisfactory National Police Records Check is required for this role.

Working in the venue and event industry means supporting the delivery of events across our event calendar. This means that weekend, evening and public holiday work will be required.
