About the role
As a Farm Hand at Kimberley Asparagus you will work closely with our experienced Farm Manager. If you have grown up or worked on farms, or recently studied agriculture or horticulture, this is a great opportunity to expand your skills and experience.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Operating farm machinery, such as a tractors and attachments.
- Undertaking chemical spraying, including fungicides, insecticides, and herbicides
- Irrigation repairs and maintenance
- Farm maintenance
- Supervising staff during harvest periods
- Record keeping
- General farm work, machine operations and maintenance as required
Kimberley Asparagus is a small farm, but there are big plans ahead. As our farm grows, you will grow with us!
About you
This role is best suited to someone with a farming, agriculture, or horticulture background at the start of their career who is keen to take the next step! We are looking for candidates with:
- Experience operating tractors, farm machinery and attachments
- Current drivers licence
- Valid Forklift licence (desirable)
- Chemical Handling Certificate (desirable)
- Willing to work flexible hours, including early workings or evenings
- Can-do attitude and ability to self-motivate
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical fitness and ability to work in the Broome climate
This opportunity is suited to candidates based in the Broome region or those willing to relocate for the role.
