Prestige Plants Australia offers an extensive range of plants and trees for sale to the landscape industry, retail nurseries and local government in Victoria and around Australia. We are currently looking for Nursery Hands to work in our Kinglake and Whittlesea sites.

Luckily, to be a Nursery Hand within Prestige Plants Australia, you don’t need prior industry experience with plants. You will need to love the great outdoors (rain, hail or shine), have a positive attitude and be active and driven. As a Nursery Hand at Prestige Plants, you’ll be picking orders, pruning and potting, completing stocktakes, performing QC checks and completing any other necessary outdoor work. You don’t need to be an ex-bodybuilder, but the role is physical in nature, so you'll need to enjoy hands-on work!

Our shifts are regular, and you won't need to work on the weekend or public holidays. It’s important that you have access to reliable transport to get to and from work safely. People that want to grow and develop with us will have the opportunity available to them too.

It’s great if you have prior plant experience, but we are also keen to hear from people from a range of different industries like manufacturing, agriculture, logistics or even retail and hospitality. Regardless of what industry you come from, a positive never-give-up attitude, willingness to learn and a drive to always be better every day, are what we are really looking for.

You will be responsible for: 

• Picking orders accurately for our customers
• Pruning and maintaining our precious stock
• Propagation of our plant material (i.e. growing things from scratch)
• Potting up plants (transferring plants from small pots to larger pots when they are ready to grow on)
• A slew of project work (for example, the installation of fencing, new irrigation and pads)
• Tying and staking of tree stock
• Potting on of tree stock (bare-rooted and containerised – don’t worry, we can teach you this)
• Loading of trucks with our Dispatch Leading Hand
• And there is the weeding…
