Vintage Winemaking Technical Assistants

Vintage commences in late January/February and concludes in April/May.

Vintage Winemaking Technical Assistants provide support and assistance to the winemaking team in the management and control of all aspects of vintage winemaking operations. Multiple vacancies exist on a casual basis throughout vintage period.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

• Assisting the winemaking team in the management of the winemaking process.
• Collecting, recording and maintaining accurate data throughout various processes.
• Monitoring and maintaining juices, yeast cultures and fermentations to specification under winemaker instruction.
• Monitoring and operating refrigeration plant under winemaker guidance.
• Collection of wine samples from the cellar and writing cellar notes.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills, knowledge & experience:

• A high-level computer skills and data entry in Microsoft applications, including word and excel.
• A basic knowledge of quality control principles and practices in relation to wine production.
• A high level of written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Be physically fit to climb stairs.
• Have the capacity to work a rotating shift roster during the vintage period and be available to work reasonable additional hours as required to meet production needs.
